Mathematics Examination Syllabus Watch 2027 tracks changes that materially affect what students should prepare, how papers are taken, or which examination route is current. It does not treat every new year number as a new syllabus: some systems change in 2027, while others simply continue an existing specification.
Singapore: SEC begins in 2027
The largest Singapore change is structural. From 2027, the GCE N(T), N(A) and O-Level examinations are combined under the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC). Students sit subjects at G1, G2 or G3 level. SEAB states that the mode of assessment and overall examination standards remain aligned with the preceding N(T), N(A) and O-Level standards.

The examination calendar also consolidates the former N/O written-examination periods into one SEC cycle beginning in October, with a common results release in January of the following year.
Singapore A-Level Mathematics: current codes continue
H1 Mathematics 8865, H2 Mathematics 9758 and H2 Further Mathematics 9649 continue under the current A-Level syllabuses for 2027. The current formula booklet is MF27, introduced from 2025. Do not replace MF27 with older MF26 references.
IB Mathematics: new courses begin teaching in 2027
IB’s revised Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches and Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation courses begin first teaching in August 2027, with first assessment in May 2029. Students taking final examinations through November 2028 remain on the current course generation.
AP Statistics changes for 2026–27 / May 2027
AP Statistics has a revised course framework effective for the 2026–27 school year. Content changes include new investigative-question work and the removal of several prior topics. The May 2027 AP Statistics examination becomes fully digital in Bluebook, including free response, and uses 42 multiple-choice questions plus four free-response questions.
AP Calculus: examination timing changes in May 2027
AP Calculus AB and BC content is not fundamentally rewritten for 2026–27, but the May 2027 examination changes its multiple-choice question count and timing. The exam remains hybrid digital: multiple choice and question viewing in Bluebook, handwritten free-response answers.
Oxford admissions: MAT is gone; TMUA is live
Oxford’s Mathematics Admissions Test ran from 2007 to 2025. For the 2026 admissions round and 2027 university entry, Oxford uses TMUA for Mathematics, Computer Science and relevant joint courses. Old MAT material remains useful practice but is no longer a live admissions-test specification.
Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580
2027 candidates remain on the Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 2025–2027 syllabus. The next published generation is 2028–2030. Therefore, 2027 is the final year of the current 0580 cycle, not the first year of the next one.
What BTT will not do
BTT will not manufacture “2027 changes” where an examination board has published none, and it will not carry old subject codes forward as if they remain current. Each examination owner is versioned against the board’s live documentation.
