What Changes in Primary 4

Primary 4 is where non-routine questions become common:

Fractions and decimals deepen
Factors/multiples start appearing
Geometry becomes more layered
Data representation becomes more demanding

The 4 Things That Must Be Stable by End of Primary 4

1) Fractions & decimals stability

If this is weak, Primary 5 becomes unnecessarily stressful.

2) Method selection (choose the right tool)

Children must learn to ask: “What relationship is this question showing?”

3) Multi-step accuracy (with checking)

Longer solutions mean more chances for small mistakes. A checking routine is essential.
